Default 67 coupe still steers terrible

You guys may remember a few questions I've had concerning my 67. I've replaced EVERYTHING having to do with the driving of the car. All new suspension front and rear, new global adjustable strut rods, and a new steering box. It still wants to roll over at the center (holding the steering straight it wants to dart left or right). I can see the front tires lean in at the top when viewing from the front. The alignment shop says it's within spec but I know that can't be just by viewing. Am I wrong or do I need to find a new alignment shop.

If you're not getting satisfaction go somewhere else. Be sure to get the pre-alignment numbers from them to make your case when you demand your money back from the first shop. Tires should not be noticeably leaning with the correct weight on the front end of the car.

Yeah i would try a different shop,I know firestone has a lifetime alignment it cost more but they will re do it over and over for free for as long as you own the car.But i have heard the ford specs in the book most us will cause funny tire wear most of us the specs off here http://home.bresnan.net/~dazed/suspension101

Do you have the shelby drop or did the PO do it possibly? If you have two sets of holes where your UCA attach you do. The alignment for having the drop is quite different than the stock alignment numbers and some shops refuse to align to anything but stock numbers. Many shops don't actually know how to align these old cars, NTB aligned mine after I put new strut rod bushings on and didn't adjust the strut rods at all from where I had them set not torqued down.

The specs you want to print and bring in to align to are at the middle of this article:

Cool Off the cliff

I do all my own maintenance and rebuilds except body work & wheel alignments. I tokk my 67 with a 351 and all new parts to Firestone for a lifetime wheel alignment. The dud who did the work owns his own mis 60's Ford and did a good job. After about 6 weejks when the bushings started to loosen up and the springs started to settle, I just took it back and they did another alignment, the cool thing is that as stated in an earlier post, they do provide a before & after printout of your wheel alignment measurement with computer generated diagrams of where your wheels are in actual relationship to the speca.
