Default Rear End Suggestion?

Have a 65 with a 289 auto C4 Trans. I've rescued this beauty from someone trying to turn it in to a 1/4 miler. Looking for gear ratios for the original or what rear end would fit nicely and give me a good ratio. I can get a hold of a 67 complete rear end. I believe it's 1" wider than the 65 but don't think that would be an issue...unless you guys know of any and would like to share. By the way, is $300 a good deal on that 67 rear end?

Thanks dudes!

I think 2.75 was stock. I ran 3.00.

3.00 is okay dont go any lower than that or freeway driving will be no fun.

I replaced mine with a 3.00 which was what was in it. only I bought it preassembled with the trac lok , also I put solid u joints in ( non greaseable) and while there relace axle bearings as they were also shot. nice for hiway and with the 302 in it is fairly quick and fun th drive.

If you already have a 8 inch i would spend the money rebuilding it.The 67 is wider and you don't really know what shape its in worse case you might have to rebuild it.Unless its a 9 inch from that 67 i wouldn't bother with it.
