Default chugging on a 351w

Hey guys, so my modded 1970 mustang fastback with 351windsor is chugging or sputtering, i think, when the secondaries on the carburetor kick in( otherwise at high rpm). My auto teacher is saying that the secondary jets are pumping in too much fuel and i need to go through holley to get smaller jets. Just wondering if anyone has heard of this or knows anything about it. When i say chugging its like there is an intake leak somewhere which would cause the engine sputter, not sure if that helped with the explanation or not. Any help would be great, thanks

Dude, sounds like a fishy answer from your teacher. Did you just put that carb on or has it been on for sometime now and ran well then all of the sudden the problem started? Did you do anything, changes anything or did it just start acting wierd one day?

More info...more info. Like said before... is this something that just came out of the blue, or have you made changes to it. Is the carb new, used rebuilt or what. By your description, it almost sounds like it's coming up on a rev limiter.

sorry for the late reply guys, ive been working on my other projects but this car has been fitted for this engine, it was a crate engine that the previous owner had put in but he also installed a lifted cam and edelbrock performance intake w/long tube headers. im also thinking that there might be a vacuum leake somewhere on the carb but there must be something with the fuel because i swear its only when the secondaries kick in
