Driveshaft questions
Ive been searching all night with no real solid results of what to do.
Went to the track yesterday after spending money on new Nitto 555r's and a Eaton tru-trac, installing yesterday morning and getting to the track, I dumped it in the burnout box and snapped the drive shaft.
It broke at the front end near the tranny, sheared of a ear of the slip yolk and blew the yolk on the driveshaft to hell.
SOOOOO I want to run next weekend and dont want to break anything....hopefully
The car is a 73 Mustang with a T-5 and 9inch rear. I was wondering what all I need to buy, and where is the best place to buy it for a decent price. I want something that obviously wont break.
So I really want to limit to 300$ bc I know a driveline shop here that will build me an HD one for that with yolks and everything.
The one that snapped was 45.5in weild to weild so im thinking the Ford Racing Aluminum driveshaft that is 45in and a new rear yolk will do just fine, or should I use the old rear yolk of the shaft that broke, its still perfectly fine.
Suggestions?
