Hi,
My junk is running TRI-Ys and Z bar clutch actuating system. I ran a Flaming river rack, then later sold it when I did a complete swap to a TCP suspension setup. I can easily state, I like the fit and operation of their manual rack more. It was a better fitment to my Flaming River adjustable column, as well.
Hope this adds some insight.

I installed the Flaming River rack with their tilt column in my fastback several years ago and I love it. Zero play in the steering and easier to to steer at slow speeds than the box was.

I did a bit of a dick dance with the headers, (wound up going with JBL shorties) but in the end it has been an awesome upgrade and everything fits like a glove and works great.

To my mind the comparison between the rack & pinion setup and the stock steering box is like comparing the stone wheel to the radial tire.
