Default New Guy

So I just signed up and figured I would give a run down of my car. It's a 1969 Coupe with a 302. I've had it for about a year now and haven't done much to it besides routine fixes.
The guy before me put the following:

Holley 600 CFM carb w/ electric choke
Edelbrock Performer RPM high rise manifold
Edelbrock heads, don't know which (haven't taken the covers off)
MSD Distributor, Ignition Coil, and 6TN Ignition Control unit
Long Tube Headers
Straight-Back True Exhaust
BORLA cat-back
and the most annoying seats and alarm system on earth.

So here's a run down of what I want to do with it... eventually:

Replace C4 auto with T5 manual conversion
Replace 8" Rear and drums with 9" Trac-Loc with Disc Brakes
Thinking of adding an H pipe to the exhaust
and mostly working on the interior otherwise.

She's pretty solid, couple small rust spots on the rear quarter that will get fixed whenever I get around to putting it in the body shop for repair and paint. More focused on the mechanics for the time being. Any suggestions for the new guy?

Cheapo Pepboys "racing" seats. I have a feeling they would fall apart in an actual race though haha. Thanks for the tip on the rear.

Sounds like fun! Your priorities are in the right order. Sounds like the previous owner did most of the engine work for you. Would you know what cam he put in? If its an edlebrock set of heads, usually they are labled as to what they are.. Either Performers, or Performer RPM's are the usual bolt ons.. How does she run? Get some pictures put up here.

She runs great, I'll get some pics up when I get home today. The only problem as far as her workings is some electrical bugs. Think i have it narrowed down to the headlight switch though and have one ordered. Any way of determining what kind of camshaft w/o taking it out, might be a dumb question but I don't know. I'll check on the heads too, but I'm pretty sure the covers just say edlebrock.

Awesome, I would say that you should ask the previous owner if there are any receipts for parts or any info that you could get from him that allways helps.

If I could do it again.. which I can, and will at some point I would drop my seat pans and go aftermarket with seats. Something that reclines and has good bolstering.
Get some pictures up. Lets see this baby in action!
