Default Wet Stang

Hey guys I have a '66 mustang and i am having a problem with water getting through into the interior. I was guessing it was that the cowl had rusted and was letting water leak in, so i went out and bought one of those plastic covers that covers the whole cowl and yet water still seems to find a way in to the car. Any ideas would be appreciated.
thanks

Are you sure that the plastic cowl seal worked? You can put your hand up into the cowl vent from under the dash and feel if it is still wet. Also, what kind of shape is your front windsheild seal in?

Find a nice dry day, then pour water into the cowl. If it leaks on the floor, then you have a cowl leak. It is probably the most common and expensive fix that we old Mustangers have to fix. You can get cowl covers that purport that their fix will stop the leak, but don't believe them. You won't get any fresh air with the cowl plugged, and the magnetic cowl vent covers don't work because they blow up to let water in at 70 MPH. The only true way to fix this problem is to replace the cowl, and that is either costly to have someone else do it, or you had better have some drilling and welding skillls if you do it yourself.

Ive got the drilling skills. But no welding skills. A red neck attempted to fix my cowl i must say his caulk job seemed to hold up. Ill just drive my moms altima to school when it is supposed to rain.

it could be the same problem i have. Behind the kick panels, there are access holes, people will remove the plugs, and not put them back in, water will leak in. Pour water in between the top of the door and front fender. and watch to see if water comes in behind the panel. REmove it of course.
