Question Coil Spring?

So I just finished restoring my 65 Mustang and had converted everything to V8 Suspension since I am going to be changing the motor one of these days. I had originally bought new inline 6 coil springs that I have in the car now since the inline 6 is still in the car. I also put 15" rims on which stand the same height as the stock wheels.

I have about 4 inches from tire to fender, too much gap.

Question:
If i put 1" lowering springs in do you think that would make a big difference? what else can i do to lower other than the Shelby drop?

your only other option would be to cut a coil. I have never liked the amount of the 1" drop coils, so whenever i installed them i would cut 1/2-1 coil out.Otherwise the front is higher then the back

O.k. I'll have to put these springs out and see if I can get 1/2 coil cut off and then see how the stance looks. Thanks!

If you're doing the engine swap soon you should wait and put in a V8 spring. The V8 obviously will be a heavier engine, so it will drop the front down. You will need new V8 coils. I went with the Arning drop and a GT rated coil, not as harsh as the 620's and they do drop app. 1" as well.

This solution may not work to your satisfaction, but it won't cost you a dime. Leave everything alone and drive the car the way it is for a week. You might be surprised at how much the front end will "settle", and it may be just right.
Best,
Al
