Default new transmission

since my body is so bad, i have been looking for a new one and I found a pretty good one that has no engine or tranny though. i figure no biggy but i have to wonder this: where can I get a replacement 4 spd manual for it? or should i convert it to a T-5? I like sticking to original specs and putting a 4 spd in but i dunno how or where to get one...

Go with the T-5. It will apear to be stock, but you'll have more gears. More gears means better gear ratios and an over drive for better fuel economy.

Lawson, don't feel bad. My nephew is 17 and has an 02 with a 5 speed stick, and he can't drive it. mainly because he doesn't even have a license yet, and his father doesn't take the time to teach him how to drive. My dumb brother gives him just about anything he wants, and since my nephew saw my 03 Mach1 he told his dad (my dumb brother ) that he wanted a Mustang just like mine. Well. being the dumb brother that he is, he didn't know a GT from a Mach. (No Machs in 02) So, he bought him the GT. Anyhoo, when I was at their home in Houston this past summer, I took the kid out to the vacant high school parking lot and taught him how to drive the stick shift. Man, that was work, and I still have a sore neck from all the starts that damn near broke my neck. It takes practice, that's all.

Here's my two cents for what it's worth. . . . . . if you're going to drive the car a lot, go with the T-5. If you're going for a concours, stick with the 4-speed. For me, I like cruising at 65 mph or so and looking at my tach and seeing 1800-2000 rpm's. The overdrive REALLY makes it worth it if you cruise a lot.

ya, i'll be driving this baby a lot. thanks for the input guys.

P.S. lol, ya, i started learning how to drive a stick a little less than a year ago when i was 15 or just turned 16. anyway...my friend's dad has a PT Cruiser and was like "here, you drive".lol, i was like wtf and then ok. i stalled out 4or 5 times at first then got the hang of it, then lost it again and stalled like 15 times in the middle of an intersection.lol. then we borrowed a friends matrix and another friends civic and now i can drive relatively well...but i dont think Soaring would want to ride with me without a neckbrace.

EDIT* lol, i just found out the seller decided not to sell the car. oh well...the hunt continues. or im back on the old body but i love manuals too much!!! ahhhh. maybe i'll sell this one once im done and then get a manual...well, i'll see how life serves itself
