Default Heater Lines

Does it matter where I put my heater lines? I have got 4 Holes on my new manifold that tap into the coolant, and was wondering if i could use the back two for the temp sending unit and heater lines, and plug the front two. This would clean things up.

if were talking for a 289/302 there are a total of two(2) lines for the heater/ the first sits on top of the intake manifold and should have an elbo fitting, the second is on the water pump itself. the intake will route into the uperpart of the firewall, and the waterpump goes to the bottem half. ill assume the heater core is good, if not youll know it!!! if that happens just by-pass the intake into the water-pump. hope this helps!

Joe, you missed Tyler's post a few days ago with pics of his manifold. He has 4 holes instead of two. I guess it really doesn't matter, but I would assume whatever has the cleanest and most direct route to the firewall.

I know i just put a performer 289 on my motor a month ago, I dont think those ports in the back have coolant access, I think the 2 in the back are induction & the 2 in the front are coolant, but i may be wrong, I used the whole on the Drivers front for my heater core with an elbo on it & the largest hole right behind the radiator neck for my thermo.

Now i just have to just find a better way/ hose for the heater line from the water pump.
