Default Installing an electric choke on a 69 fastback

Hi everyone, I've been rebuilding a 1969 mustang for some time now and I am having some trouble hooking up to my carburator. I switched from a Holley 2bbl to an Edelbrock 500cmf electric choke and I do not know where to hook up the positive wire. The owner of the car before me apparently did a little "creative" wiring and wire colors under the dash do not match up to the colors marked in the wiring diagram. Can someone please give me some options on where I can wire it to? I currently have the negative wire connected to the shock tower and I'm assuming that's fine..

I have read in several forums to use either the alternator or coil wire, and others say NEVER to use those. I just need someone to tell me where to put it. This is the last thing to hook up before the car drives and it's driving me insane.

I always hook the hot wire to the STA (stator) terminal on the alternator. That way the choke is only on when the engine is running. If you check around, that seems to be the general consensus for a good electric choke hookup.

For the 1973Mustang model Ford uses the Alternator "S" terminal as the source of power for the electric choke and ground directly on the carb.
