where should I install the fan t-stat switch

^That was I was about to suggest. Those thermostat housings are available at pretty much any parts store, as long as you can find someone smart enough to be able to pull out the book and find you the right one. Lacking that, I think the factory '68 housing is correct.

its a good idea but that one wont work. I am running a serpentine set up and require a 90* housing. ill look to see if i can find a different one though.

Absolute worst case, pull the intake and drill/tap for standard pipe fitting, then use the adapter.

I may go that way in the future. However now I just have it wired to the ignition. we are in the 80s anyway so I dont think Ill have any issues with it running too cold
