1968 250 head swap
I have a 1968 mustang 200 engine. I recently got a 250 head from a 1969 maverick. I know the head will fit even the valves are the same size. I would like to know if the pushrods from the 200 will work or do I need something else ?

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like you may have tried this or know someone . I guess it didn't work very well. What would you suggest ? Maybe bigger valves on the 250 head . I'm just trying to get a little more power without spending 1200 for a aluminum head

Best I recall, the "C3xx" casting has smaller chambers and the large valves; otherwise, the engine is what it is and will take serious bucks to massage more power from it. Had a guy want me to build him a 300 horse 6 cyl engine several years ago, and I told him it couldn't be done as a practical matter. He came to me a year later with a 300 horse (he claimed) 6 cylinder to show me I was wrong. I asked him what it cost and he said he had close to $21,000.00 in it. Who was right? Talk to Clifford Engineering. They sell a lot of hop up stuff for the motor.
