'66 spindle help..
So my first posting on here discussed some steering issues that I have on my 66... First some quick detail: I recently purchased a 1966 mustang coupe that is pretty close to stock with a lot of simple replacement parts as things have gone out.. It has an inline 6, manual steering and brakes..
In my first posting I had asked about some steering issues; went by a shop and they suggested simply redoing the front end to replace pieces like the tie rods, bushings, etc... But as I wait for a good quote from them to do that work I ran into a new question!! At some point a conversion was put on the car that replaced the stock 4 lug set up (for the wheels) to five lugs.. Also I believe new drum pads were put on and drums. I was researching switching the drums to disc brakes and I read that if the spindles were converted to v-8/five lug spindles then that could cause some steering issues (since it is a 6cyl??)? Is there a way to pull off the tire and check/investigate the spindle to find out what someone had put on there??
Thanks guys!
