Default MSD Tach Adapter

Is anyone else running a MSD 6A with the MSD Tach Adapter. My Tach operates intermittently. The car runs fine. I was thinking maybe a grounding problem. I checked the ground. Should I run it to the battery?

The best ground is the battery. You may also find someone else that may have had the same problem here by doing a search:

MSD board

Their tech support may be able to help you. I had one tech tell me my accel was not compadible with my 6AL box and just yesterday I had another e-mail me it will[:@]

I am an enginneer. I perform electrical installations on Air Force aircraft for a living. I highly doubt that the Accel is not compatible with the MSD. It is and electrical circuit. The power is not phased so there are no timing issues. I can't see a reason why they would not be compatible.

John, if you are an electrical engineer, why are you asking technical questions about this on here? You should be giving advice.

I disagree...he did not claim to be a mustang engineer.
I had to use a tach adapter even though all my stuff is MSD. The incompatibility is with the tach. I also then needed an MSD noise filter. $$$ but worth it.

Maybe this site will help answer some questions for you. It is the MSDignitions.com site. http://www.msdignition.com/

I am putting in electronic ignition in my 66 in the next few days/weeks. That is how I found this site. You will have to have adobe to openit.

Good Luck
