Default Adjust Brake Light Switch?

Hey All,

So my 68 coupe the 'Green Tomato' DD is coming along after almost a year.

Working my way down the list and doing my best to stay ahead of the issues as they come up. So far so good overall.

So recently a guy hollered out at an intersection: "Nice car, but I think you're brake lights are broken..."

So in checking it out, sure enough the lights don't come on when slowing gently...that is until I press way hard down on the pedal.

Quick check and ordered a new brake light switch...and same thing...works but only when pressed HARD.

Any ideas? I'm rather annoyed there's not a sensitivity adjustment on the switch...

hello;

there is no adjustment for your prob.

are your brakes stock?

do they slow the car with just a featherlite touch.

I can't be 100pct sure if the brakes were original/stock from the factory, but they're Ford power disc fronts and they seem to be installed cleanly and work real well overall. Rears are OEM style drums.

Indeed they do begin to slow the car with a light touch, but feels about right IMO...hard to say if it's "featherlite"...

I tried to attach some snapshots but it won't let me (low post count still I think).
...here's some shots:
