Default 3 speed shifter

Someone told me that the 3 speed shifter for the 2.77 transmission is different that the 3 speed shifter for the 3.03 transmission. I know the shift rods are different but is the shifter different as well??
Thanks

lol, ok we feel sorry for you now, lol.

look at the tailshafts. the left one is a 2.77. the right is one version of a 3.03. the 3.03 in the photo does not have bolt holes for a floor shifter. they both take different tranny mounts and maybe different cross members too.does yours have bolt holes?

The pic from barnett shows a NON-Mustang 3.03 tranny. Both the 2.77 and the 3.03 Mustang 3 speeds have tail shaft mounting holes. The shifter handle and gates are identical for both the 6 and 8 cylinder trannys. The only difference is as you pointed out, that being the shifter rods, while quite similar, are different. Not only do they have different bends, they also are different as to their rod diameters. Same crossmsmber and mount for both trannys, also.
Best,
Al

Thanks guys I appreciate it. Mine does have the bolt holes whew!!!
Al, I did find a set of shift rods on EBAY. They say they are for "1969-70 Mustang Original/Used 3 Speed Manual Transmission Shift Rods & Arms." For some reason I cannot attach a photo but they look the same as other pictures I have seen.

They should be fine, as the transmission, shifter gates are the same from 1965-1970.
