Default 66 underdash wiring

FYI - have completed the rewiring on my 66 coupe using the factory style OE replacement harness in the eng, trunk, dash, etc. Made an interesting discovery that may help the rest of you folks. The "65-66 ALL" harness appears to incorporated the '67 pigtail for the emergency switch/flasher. There's been many online questions regarding 'what the heck is this white wire", and "what's this white/red stripe white/blu stripe green/white stripe & green 4 pin plug?", etc, etc...

Look at the 67 mustang exterior lights and turn signals. Looks to me they're using the 67 emergency flasher color codes and route back through the 66 emergency switch using the four pin plug rather than the traditional four individual spade connectors. Your thoughts? What throws you for a loop is the color code white/red stripe which is the oil sending unit color code for the 66.

I added an ididit ford column and still trying to identify the routing to the signal flasher for my blu and orange/yellow coming from the emergency flasher. When I put in the new harness I re-used my original emergency switch pigtail. My OE emergency flasher wiring has four wires (two spliced) and appears to route back towards my column. Something tells me my extra set of flasher wires are not needed, In fact, now that I'm looking at the wiring pigtail image for a 66 emergency switch, that entire pig tail can be removed so I can use the new harness setup and color codes. Is that correct? Thank goodness for schematics! Sure wish the manufacturer would have stated that with the new harness. Am I correct in my thinking?

Wow, I thought this was a place to share information and feedback. Well, we like pictures right? maybe that'll help. On the center 65-66 OE Emerg Flasher Harness pic you'll see a spliced orange and blue wire that normally plugs into the emergency flasher with the second set of wires returning to the steering column. Looking a the first EXTRA-WIRES pic the replacement harness changes this, and appears to eliminate the OE pigtail as a plug in and incorporates that wiring into the replacement dash harness, but rather than use the traditional color codes orange & blue, they use white/red, red/white & blue/white as shown in the EXTRA-WIRES pic which are 67-68 color codes. The confusion, white/red is the color code for the oil sending unit on a 66. The rubber plug on the EXTRA-WIRES pic connects to the emergency flasher rather than using the tradional individual spade connectors as shown in the last Backside Emerg Flasher pic. These are not my pictures, and I want to give credit to the persons who shared this information online. It shows the value of the internet.

I'm sure there's folks out there that see or understand what I'm looking at and can provide feedback. If not, so be it. I'll let ya'll know if I'm correct in a couple days. If you see smoke off to the west this weekend, not good.

everything went together as expected, no surprises. Removed the OE emergency switch and flasher harness and replaced it with the existing pigtail in the replacement harness. Waiting for lights to arrive to test the entire system.

update. . . conducted the ole smoke test this last weekend, all is good! Some items will not function until the rest of the motor/trans is in place (neutral safety switch).

Something I tripped upon, my battery charger would not work because it has to detect voltage. Normally connect red to battery + (connected to solenoid), and connect black - to chassis, do not complete the battery - to chassis connection because you're running through the charger which is set to trickle charge, puts out a low 2-3amps so you don't blow anything. My charger wouldn't work so had to connect red battery +, and black - to chassis ground; no motor in the car. No biggy, just letting you know some newer chargers are too automated to perform this test.
