Adjustable engine mounts
Hi all,
I have been looking at the Ron Morris adjustable motor mounts for my 1966 mustang. Specifically the 1/2" lowering mounts. I need a little more clearance for the transmission. Lowering the engine would give me the clearance I need as well as improve my driveline angle.
I have read that the 66 mustang engine mounts were 1/2" higher than the 65 mounts. If that is the case then the 1/2" lowering mounts might actually result in the engine being lowered 1". Does anybody know the correct story on this?
My other question is about my clutch linkage. I have the factory Z bar linkage. If I use the lowering mounts, what will have to be done to make the linkage work?
Here are the mounts I am referring to.

I have the RMP adjustable mounts and have been very happy with them, but I can't answer your question about the lowering mounts. I do know that with the clearance I have between the stock style replacement oil pan and the crossmember, I can't go much lower.
