Default ??? ponycarburetors

Recently bought a '66 coupe from the original owner, 289, C4, etc, etc. Doing a period correct 2V/4V upgrade. So far, so good. Have questions regarding ponycarburetors. They seem a little on the pricey side. Would like to get feedback from anyone who's used their services. Currently have a 1.08 4100, and I'm questioning whether to rebuild it myself or just spend the money and let them do it.

That all depends on your rebuilding skill. The 4100 is easy to rebuild, but if you want it built right, then go with pony carb.

HI,
I just got done with a 4V upgrade. I did it with orginal parts I found on e-bay. I re-built my 4100 but used parts from Ponycarb.

honestly, I'm a bow tie 68-69 Camaro convert. Rebuilt many a quadajet, but this is my first Ford, and pseudo holley. I'm fairly confident given past experience. Tried to get some details from Ponycarb as to exactly what they do beyond the rebuild and necessary adjustments; air/fuel, choke, spring tensions for the primary and secondaries, but their only response was "these are trade secrets and we're not gonna tell you". Pretty expensive trade secrets. I was hoping others can provide some insight.

Something funny, being a convert, I continually have to remind myself this is not a chevy firing order, 18436572.

Thanks much.

And, this is not a bow tie site. Pony carbs is a retail company that rebuilds and sells carbs for a profit. Why do you think they should give out their trade secrets? However, with any wrenching skills and knowledge about how carbs work, you should be able to rebuild a 4100 to correct specs. On the side, my brother has an 02 Camaro, and I have an 03 Mach1. Don't tell anyone on this site, but we raced, and I won.
