Default Need help with accelerator issue.

I have completed all of the modifications to the intake manifold to convert from a 1bbl to a 2bbl carburetor. Had to mount the Holley 2300 carburetor sideways due to valve cover clearance issues. When I press the accelerator pedal the rod pushes up instead of down. Does anybody have any ideas that would work? I want to drive it again.

your post makes no sense . . if you mount a carb sideways on an intake with a divided plenum it probably wont even run because only 4 cylinders are getting fuel.

Thanks for the supply. I should have said that my engine is an inline six. Mounted as it is the car does run very well. Just need some ideas to either modify the rod coming off the bell housing or replacing the set up from the accelerator to the carb.
