Default Carb flooding

Have a 1972 mustang, just rebuilt 302 with new everything gas pump included and 2100 2V Autolite carb. Drove it a little ran well but capsule always smell gas and went through a lot fast. then it started to flood out, now won't start. Here is what I checked

1) Checked voltage regulator
2) Ck Coil
3 ) Ck distributor to Spark to plugs
All ok

Took gas line off carb used quick start and poured a little gas in started to fire up.

Cranked the car for 2-3 minutes and filled up a gallon jug.

My question is the pump pushing too much gas, or is that normal and the internals of the carb not regulating the flow?

Help?

Check your carb's needle and seat for contamination?

also, set the float level to 1/2" and install a tiny clear fuel filter after the pump if you have a rubber line, if not, install one before the pump.
