Default Which Horn Button to Use

Hey guys,
Just picked up my next Mustang project a '67 coupe. It's got an aftermarket wood steering wheel, sans center cap. I've looked all over the wheel and cannot find a manufacturer name. Anyone have a suggestion on a center cap/horn button to use? I'm not concerned about anything factory correct, just want to get a horn button on there.
Thanks!
Keith

I am almost positive that is an old Grant aftermarket. It's a dead nuts knockoff of the one I use to sport.

Nice! That does look like the same one to me as well. I'm going to give that one a shot. Thanks!

That looks exactly like the wheel I had in my 67. Mine was a Grant. It had a chrome center but it always fell off. That or the horn would stay on.

I never did get the horn to work right with that wheel.

Speedway has mounting kits for those I think. Probably Summit too.

I had the same problems with the horn button popping off, too. I'll probably just get a new wheel altogether to put an end to the frustration

You need to be careful with the horn button. Because the button has 12 volts on one side and goes to the horn on the other, there is a possibility of grounding the 12 volts . The horn and stoplight switch power is fed from the light switch which has an internal circuit breaker. There are special instructions concerning modifying a spring clip, which if not modified, could contact the wheel housing causing a short.

Do you guys have a particular wheel you prefer? I'm not doing an original restoration so I'm not worried about keeping things original but I have heard a lot of people saying they have trouble with horn buttons on the 'Stangs
