Default steering wheel never locks

2007 Mustang.
No problem starting...No problem inserting or removing key
Auto Transmission with the car in park...
steering wheel doesn't lock.

Plan to take the lower steering cover off to see if I see anything
broken or maybe falls off..haha

I'm assuming that my problem is all mechanical and if lucky
maybe a little grease on the locking mechanism will fix it....

Anyone had this problem before?

Thanks,

bigrich

Does it lock with the steering wheel turned all the way left/right?

I think 2005 and newer mustangs don't have a locking steering wheel column.

My 2010 locks when I park it with the wheel turned all the way right/left.

2007 should lock. no amount of turning the wheel will it lock. still havn't had a chance to remove lower steering wheel cover to see if it needs lube or if I see something broken. everything works like it should except the wheel locking.
