Default Parking/Emergency Brake Problems

I've got a '65 vert with a 9" rear off a 70's Lincoln Versailles. The parking brake works, but not well. I just can't get enough leverage to really engage it, so I can't park on any sort of steep slope.

I've got a nice console that I want to keep, so a tunnel-mounted lever is out. I've seen the E-stopp, which is probably my main option right now, but I wanted to see if anyone had other ideas.

Maybe something like this?

After much research, I'm going to try a Cobra brake retrofit kit from MustangSteve. I already had disc brakes so I didn't really need the "upgrade," but Steve claims this will improve my parking brake situation - and it costs less than the E-Stopp.

I'll let you know how it goes.
