Where does everyone get part for restoring their classic mustangs? I've been getting stuff from cj pony parts, but I was wondering if there's a better place to go.

I've always had good luck with mustang depot out of Vegas. Then there is mustangs plus out of Stockton. And as you previously mentioned CJ pony parts. Those are the only shops I've used to date.

I've used CJ a lot for my 65 convertible and 69 Mach 1, when I know the quality of the part I'm looking for. They also run good sales throughout the year and their bonus points promotion is really nice, if you rack up enough of them. NPD is also a reliable source, with a large selection of parts. When I'm unsure about the quality of the part I'm looking for (like when more than one part is available from different manufacturers), I have found that Virginia Classic Mustangs is a great place for guidance. They have a very experienced and knowledgeable staff and have developed a reputation for offering fair and unbiased opinions on which reproduction part gives you the best bang for your buck. They will take the time to talk to you and provide an honest assessment of the parts they sell. I had heard of them actually suggesting that customers go elsewhere to purchase a better quality part than what they currently had in stock. It happened to me a few years back, when I was looking for a reliable repro yellow top coil. That sort of customer service has made them my first stop when I'm looking for parts.

+1 on CJ. I've use the hell out of them in the past year and have no complaints. their bonus points is a sweet perk and free shipping sweetens the pot too.

I've used Virginia Mustang recently and again, no complaints. I bought my exhaust system from them a couple months ago and have been clicking my heels that #1, they had it in stock when nobody else did and wasn't going to for a while and #2 that they did give an honest assessment of the quality of the product.

As a matter of fact, I had a question about the exhaust that the lady couldn't answer so she gave me the vendors phone # so I could call him directly and ask him myself! With that kind of service I will definitely be back.

Another +1 for CJ. I've also used NPD and MustangsPlus occasionally, but CJ usually has the best price - as others have said, wait for sales. You can also find coupons online (you can always get at least 5% off).

I've used CJ, NPD, Mustangs Unlimited and Stang-a-holics. No issues with any of them.

We usually use John's Mustang in Houston because it's close to us and we can get things shipped quickly. When we redid the interior, we used Dallas Mustang. They did a good job and a reasonable price.

I've had good luck with VirginiaClassicMustangs.com. I have ordered parts for my 64 1/4 from them since the 1980's with no problems.
