Brake booster holding pressure on front disc bra
Hi, I'm Ian and I'm new to the forums as I got a 67 mustang coupe for graduation a couple weeks ago.
The brake booster on it was hissing really bad but I still had brakes, anyway I got a new one, the same one as the bad one but new and the hissing quit but now the new booster is holding pressure on the front brakes.
I have front disc and rear drum.
The car is off you can turn the rotor fine but then I start it and push the brake pedal a couple times and it drags the rotor. I have adjusted the push rod on the booster back as far as it will go and that didn't help, and the pedal has hardly any play. When I drive it the brakes start to smell in the front cause of the booster holding pressure.
Can someone help please?

I ran out of adjustment on my brake rod as well. had the exact same issue. I just used a couple flat washers behind the master cylinder, where it bolts to the firewall. This spaced it out another 1/8 inch and gave me back some free play. Problem solved for 39 cents worth of washers.
