I don't think that going from drum to disc will affect the pedal pressure.

Not the pressure, just the travel distance, and disks won't feel quite as mushy.

I think what he is trying to ask is...is it still going to be hard as hell to push the brake pedal down when the brakes are applied? the answer is.. it will ease the pressure a little but you have to remember they are manual brakes and they are always going to be difficult to depress. a power brake conversion is an answer but it is neither cheap nor easy.

Hey David......is there a way to upgade to an ABS system? I hear tell you can convert a late 90's Cobra's ABS system onto a 67 and up Mustang.

Ok guys, Iwas just wondering if it would be easier. It doesnt bother me much. Ill just have a really muscular right leg. The place that sells the kit also has power brake boosters $130

Yeah...I'd say it could be possible...although I'd imagne its not easy or cheap...If you have all the components and at least front disc brakes it is possible. I am sure some company has a wiring harness to do so...There is a lot of electronics involved with abs...You wires and relays and sensors..which more than likely none of them are on your car now unless you have power brakes and a computer. But the first things you need to have are front disc brakes and power brakes..You can't have abs with manual brakes...But the hardest thing about it is finding a pcm and bcm...They are the powertrain control module and the body control module and abs runs through both of them...I'll look around on the net and let you know if I find anything...or if I forgot something of importance.

Your going to find that the weak link in the chain of stopping will wind up being tires if you are running anything close to stock rubber. The disks will give you better control and ability to modulate the force. They will be much more predictable than the drums.

If you are into it power brakes are definately worth it...If you can get the booster and a new master cylinder to go with it, a proportioning valve, and all the lines you have you setup....The main thing you need is a good vacuum source for your booster...but that normally isn't too difficult to figure out.
