69 GT Hood Scoop Paint Job
Had my 69 mustang since I was 15, about 4 years ago when I was at college one weekend I came out to find my GT Hood Scoop had been completely ripped off. Literally ripped off the hood, one small piece was still attached at the bolt. Years later after taking care of other things on the car, I was finally able to make a big purchase of parts, half performance half cosmetic, and one of them was a new GT Hood Scoop!
So my question is, any tips on painting it and ideas on the color? Mustang is currently a sky blue but I would like to eventually paint it red with black stripe, and the hood scoop will be black as well hence why I've decided to go black and not try and match the old sky blue paint job the car had when I purchased it. I know I want it to be black, but I'm not sure if I want to go for a matte or glossy black. I was leaning toward glossy but a lot of mustangs I see seem to have it with a flat matte black.
Any tips on painting it though would be appreciated, I've looked up a few guides but figured the enthusiasts here might have some better insights.
