I just pulled the 289 out of my 66, but, left the c4 in. Now, I can't get it out of gear. Do I just need to remove the drive shaft in order to move the car, or is there a better way?
reach under the car and physically shift the tranny into neutral, its probably in park so rotate the arm counterclockwise two clicks. There should be nothing physically preventing you from moving the arm even though the eng is out. Put a block of wood or wire across the front of the bell housing to keep the converter in place, or remove the converter completely now that the eng is out. One bad move and that converter can slide off the shaft onto the floor.
