Default 66 mustang no spark

This Saturday I was trying to get the car started after a little over a year of sitting in the garage. Tried jumping the car since the battery was dead and was able to get it to start for moments at a time then shut off. After replacing the battery with a brand new one the car suddenly isnt getting any spark. Replaced the distributor cap and rotor but it's only cranking. can't seem to locate the problem as I am new to working with cars. Last year when I ran and used the car for a day before putting it away it started up just fine after being jumped, so did replacing the battery cause the no spark issue? I am currently using an msd 6a with fairly old wiring, can attach photos if necessary. Thanks in advance.

Was the power wire for the MSD hooked to a battery terminal and fell off during the replacement of the battery?

How do you know it has no spark?
