What wheel studs on 8.0 axle?
Greetings from across the Pond!
I need to replace the wheel studs on a ford 8.0" axle, can any one confirm what they are and where I can get hold of some replacements, Ideally I'd like to get some longer than stock as I'm using disc's on the rear.
As I live in the UK I haven't been able to find anything suitable due to it's size and being imperial.
I measure them to be 5/8" spline and 1/2" (probably UNC) thread can anyone confirm this.
All help is appreciated

RE: What wheel studs on 8.0 axle?
Hi,
I decided to re-measured the holes in the mounting flange and the old studs that I already with a pair of calipers and came up with something unexpected, the holes measured damn near 0.600 (5/8" = 0.625) and the splined part of the studs came out at 0.615.
Presumably the 0.015 is for the spline to actually bite into the flange, Summit Racing list some of these press in studs that are 3.00 long and have a 1/2x20(UNF I think), is it plausable that they are actually 0.615 and not 0.625???
Sorry about the previous confusion "Soaring" the 1/2" part was the threaded part.
Regards

RE: What wheel studs on 8.0 axle?
Hi
Probably should have made this clear at the time of the original post, the axle has been fitted to a 1972 Mk1 Escort(uk) and doesn't have a complete set of studs.
So I need to source a complete set, the car is also going to be raced and the regulation state that longer studs and sleeved lug nus are used so this kills two birds with one stone.
I'm just trying to avoid ordering the wrong type of studs as they're gonna be quite expensive by the time they've been shipped.
