Default Emission Control

I have a 1968 302 four barrel with stock air cleaner and with all the emission control hoses. I want to change the air cleaner to install simply an air cleaner. What emission control hoses are important and what can I remove? The car was delivered to Oklahoma so I know it doesn't have all the California stuff.

Any help is appreciated.

If you're talking just an air cleaner install, then you need a PCV valve and hose from the passenger side valve cover to the base of the carburetor, and replace the breather on the driver side valve cover with just an open breather. Air is pulled in from the driver side and circulated through the block bottom end, up through the passenger side and into the carb to be reburned. If you need to remove the smog pump, you need to purchase air injector port plugs, roughly 8-10$ a piece, and screw them into the heads before removing the smog pump. They go where the current smog air injector tubes screw into the head. The preheat riser from the passenger side to the air cleaner is not critical nor effects anything, it can be simply be removed.
