Dash speakers 1965

I've owned this 1965 for about 25 years and purchased from original owner. We just replaced the dash speaker with a new one from CJ Pony.

I'm assuming what we removed was not factory original? Pictures attached.

From: I reside in a near constant state of amazment.

That is not OEM and neither are those spade connectors. The housing looks like it could be though.
