I believe I know how the emergency break is supposed to work but need to hang my head and ask to make sure since i can't get it to work on my 64 1/2. I pull the handle out and turn down but it just snaps back. What am I doing wrong?

 

Just pull it back, don't turn it. When you turn it down that is the brake release.

 

ok i think something may be broken on mine i will have to check it out more. I pull it back and it pulls back in without turning it. Thanks for your reply
