I have a 1966 Ford Mustang. What is the proper color black and Sheen for the engine compartment.

 

The correct (factory) sheen is semi-gloss, CJ sells it. But a lot of people prefer more gloss, that is really up to the beholder. Please tell me you're not thinking about painting over that beautiful engine compartment.

 

Thank you for answering my question about the black color. I just wanted to do what is Factory correct. Do these cars come out of the factory with red engine Bays? I thought they were always black. I wanted to be correct

 

No, unfortunately the bay itself is black, but the underside of the hood is body color.
