Perhaps you haveread or heard people saying ohhhh i was racing this x,y,z car and it was dead even until my VTEC kicked in i pull away. Or oohhh i was racing this x,y,z car and it was dead even until my MIVEC kicked in ipulled away.

whats the deal with this?

I dont think iv heard here or anywhere ohhh man when my LS1 kicked in i walked away, or when my 4.6liters kicked in i run away!!!!

I just find it funny thats all. VTEC = very tall engine coolant MIVEC = manual intercooler vig engine coolant

 

its like vvt just better from what i hear

 

My Honda VFR800 has a VTEC engine. You can definitely feel the power difference when the VTEC engages.

my old suzuki 450 had something like this...docile under 3500, but pulled like a **** from 3500-10,000

 

I can see it having a significant impact on a bike, but my wife had a Honda Accord with VTEC, and it wasn't exactly like you were hitting 13lbs of boost or anything. It was just a slight nudge and the speedo didn't change its pace enough to notice. Pretty much you floored it and were going nowhere, then the VTEC thing happened, and you started going nowhere just a tad faster.

 

I have heard of guys wiring up lights so that they know when their vtak kicks in

That's nothing, you ought to feel it when my 4th valve opens up, and once my dual cam kicks in, it's on then![8D]

 

If anyone here doubts the VTEC, just go drive an S2000, you'll see......
