Default pcv valve

Do i need to have a pcv valve? I looked it up and it said they were for emissions. If i dont need one do i just leave the hole on the carb open?(the hole that the pcv tube connects to.)

Why wouldn't you want to have a PCV valve Tyler? Besides eliminating crankcase emissions as a source of air pollution, the constant recirculation of air through the crankcase helps remove moisture which otherwise would cause sludge to form. Thus the PCV valve extends the life of the oil and engine.

Okay, I thought it was just something to control emissions. It has many important purposes!
