1. Spring over lifts are for 79 Blazers, not 67/8 mustangs.

as i said earlier my only intentions were to get the car rollable so i can put it in my garage. it is alot faster to simply slide the rear axle under the leaf springs than to get it on top of them. i do not want to emulate that car at all, other than the fact that the rear end is a bit higher than the front. plus it is im pretty sure it is against the law in my state to have the tires sticking out past the body. i prefer the look of a coupe with the front a tad lower than the back. i was planning on using a 5 spring performance pack that i had seen somewhere that has a 1.5" lift. unless there is someone that has used them and can attest to them being junk. i still plan on using stock length shackles. i only posted the first pictures because the car looked interesting and i have never seen a classic mustang with that type of stance, i agree that it was a bit too much.
thanks again for the comments,
carl
You weren't doing any real suspension mods, just yanking our chains.
Now that you have it in the garage, put the damn springs back over the axle. When you get finished with the project, whether or not you want to do some radical wheel and tire mods, you still need a decent stance for handling purposes. Here is my old yeller's butt that is pretty typical of stock, but even with larger tires and wheels, it should not be much different looking as far as the stance.

This is how I have my suspension but I didn't know that having those rear shackels to raise the back was bad for traction/ride ability...

They are cheaper than springs and easier to install (especially if have very old leafs). Instead of spending 1-2 days fighting eye bolts, you spend an hour with hand tools.
thanks for the pictures. im keeping a folder of my own as the project progresses. i should be able to paint it hopefully this summer at school. il post some more when she starts to look a little more decent.
thanks again,
