roof gutter replacement
The first picture, driver side-- can be welded in and sealed easily, your passenger side will be a little harder to do, but i'd stick with soaring's advice. Your best bet would be to cut the rust out, treat the remaining area and then patch it with a new piece. It'll be hard to find a donor car that'll let you cut that piece out, but it'd be a lot easier to just get a piece of sheet metal and fab it yourself. The rail piece will be harder to fit because its completley gone, but you'll want to fab that yourself and mold it similiar to the driver's side, then you can weld it to your already attached piece.
That sounds confusing when i read over it, but you'll want to do this in two steps when you're adding your new pieces:
1st you'll want to weld the new pillar piece first, then 2nd you'll want to weld the rail to the pillar.
Make sure you prime and seal the gutter so that it doesn't rust again.
also, it may be a good idea to cover the interior floor pans up as it seems that rain is getting on them.

thanks,
thats what ill do in terms of the rail replacement. ive got the floors primed and i govered that in silver enamel since that was all i had at the time. i should have the car in the garage by tonight, just want to cut out one more section of the trunk/rear floor under the back seat. so that i can see how the crossmember that the rear springs are attached to and rear torque boxes are. so far the majority of the frame needs to be replaced. gotta get it all done by school in march so that i can bring her with me to paint it.
thanks again for the help,
carl
