carbon fiber
fiber glass is strong to an extent. if you are planing on wrecking the car, yes it wont "bend" like metal, it usually crackes, or breaks into pieces. with carbon fiber, yes it durable and strong, but its also hard to paint, and is very expensive. Look at all the old shelbys whom had fiberglass front ends...if they lasted 40 years i think youll be alright. Besides Year one sells complete front ends in fiberglass for 400 bucks minus a hood, if that was in carbon fiber, expect to pay upwards of 1000 dollars for the little pieces. I have seen many try and paint carbon fiber but fail to impress because you can see the ripples.. looks crappy to me IMO

yeah, theres this website, they make mustang hoods, trunks, scoops, front aprons, from a kevlar/carbon mix. The kevlar only adds to rigidity, it still really light.

There is also another wesite: www.up22.com I heard they were pretty good.
