'67 hood latch springs...how many?
Son and I adjusted the hood for a better fit awhile back. Hood closed fine with tighter more aligned fit. However the hood latch mechanism is not working properly. It closes OK and aligns up properly but when we attempt to pull up on the hood release handle the locking part doesn't open all the way..(see picture). Is a spring missing on that part or what? Thanx for your help in advance...

i dont have my mustang on me right now (im at work) but i do believe there is a spring that pulls that hook over. If not just squirt all the moving parts with silicon lubricant and see if it loosens it up any. i guess my main question is will the hood not open? or is it hard to get it open, becuase if its just hard to open than your problem lies in gummed up moving parts

ok i went home and took a gander after i watched the broncos game last night......raiders suck by the way, anyway it does in fact have a spring that holds the latch, and for some odd reason you dont have one. The spring hold from the latch to a little hole kinda tucked away, and just for grins, i took it off, and my hood did the same thing, so thats the problem. i would call up National Parts Depot, im pretty sure theyll have a replacement spring, or just as well go to a junkyard and pull it off a doner car....not like the spring holds a huuuuuge task
