Default Strange question

Hello, first timer on Mustangforums.com. I have a strange question to ask and you guys seem to know just about everything. Anyway, I disassemble the front end on my 66 coupe for some repair work. After putting the car back together I noticed that when the headlamps are on the parking lights were off. I checked all the wiring and everything seems fine. The parking lights come on when the main switch is in the parking position and the turn signal works, but soon as you pull the switch all the way out to illuminate the headlamps the parking lights go out. I can't for the life of me remember if thats what they are suppossed to do or not. Thanks in advance for your responses or suggestions. Oh, does anyone know the name of the part that attaches to the transmission housing that has four wires attached to it(red/black colored). This part has a broken wire that is causing my backup lights to not function when the shifter is placed into reverse. Thanks again guys.

Charles nailed it.. You don't have a problem. Also, take out the switch for back-up lights and get it cleaned up and working smoothly, then replace the wiring in the broken section. Welcome to the site, and come back often.
