Default door question

I recieved some info saying that if my door is rusted in the bottom 1/2 i might as well buy a new shell, what do you guys think? there is a hole about the size of a golf ball on the bottom corner nearest to the fender. there is also rust along the lip. I know they make replacement sections for this also. I also heard that repo doors dont fit well like the factory doors, is this true?

thanks

Well allmost all have same problem. There is bad rusting place where you said. Factory door frame is very good and you get best result when you use it. Door skins are something like Mustang door skins and usually they need some work.

Here you can see that I had same thing to do and we did those corners.

Door were sand blasted and painted inside when old skin was removed

And then my friend how is profesional car body repairer used metal clue. Now there is no air between door skin and door frame. There is no place for rust. Only place what he welded was small front window supports at front of the door.

Default RE: door question

i put a repo door on my 65 it fit well but u can tell it is not original because it is so much lighter u can weld the bottoms of the door on the grain grind it down smooth it out spray it with textured paint and then paint ur interior over it to hide the repair!!
