Default shifting weeeeird

I had a weird situation happen to me just the other day. I was in the old silver bullet, taking it out and around the block, and kinda got on it a little, and right when it was ready to hit into third, it boahged down, and died!!!! It only did it once, i got it going, and drove without having it die, only now when it shifted into third, it felt almost like it was missing the gears, but gets in there. I drove it yesterday, and it did it again, so im gonna go home and check the vacumme modulator to see if its clogged or something, if not what do you guys think. I dont think its a carb problem, so what could it be? Thanks for the help guys

Has it happened since then? It does sound like a vacuum leak.

Sounds like the intermidiate band did not release and probably burnt the high gear clutches.

ok nothing to worry about, i went home and pulled the modulator off, and sure as s@#t it was clogged real bad. I just took a round brush with metal brissels on the ends and cleaned it up good. I took it around the block once again, and that was the problem. I wonder why it clogged so bad in the first place, my motor doesnt even have 5,000 miles on it lol
