Which Color?
It'll still be awhile before I get my project 67 coupe painted but I'm kinda iffy about what color I should paint it. My dad has always told me "lime green" would look awesome, and "plum crazy" is good too. I found a pic of a limegreen one and a "prowler purple", what do you guys think?

I think the plum purple is pretty cool, but the lime green isn't great in my opinion....That seems to be a dull green too ...maybe if it was alittle more viberant I would say it was okay.
A select few people like green cars. The rest of us wonder whats wrong with those who like green. It can look good, but it has to be the right shade with just enough metallic in it to get the effect the purple one has. If those are your only two choices, go with purple.
A note about DIY. Light colors like yellow and white hide not so perfect body work alot better than darker colors. That purple metalic is going to need good body prep to look good too. When we painted my brothers 68 coupe a metallic silver blue, every imperfection that we didnt wetsand out, like very subtle sanding scratches/lowspots pooled the paint and showed up when it dried. Its not very wavy like a black car could be, but when you get up close you can see it. A bright yellow will look good from a long way off and up close with crappy bodywork. My 70 GTO was painted with rattle cans in yellow to keep the weather out, and it looks great from about 100feet..lol.. or in pictures.
I prefer metalic paint, red is overdone IMO, and the gunmetal/gold/silver thing is starting to run its course, ie the Eleanor car's color. Wheels make a huge difference too, see how stodgy the green car looks with the stock type caps? Something else to ponder..

You can't go wrong with basic black. The combination with stock chrome and killer wheels can't be beat. Just my 2 cents plus mine is black. www.1969boss429.com
go to the paint store ask to see the color sheet for 72 paint code 4f it really looks awesome it definitely a muscle car color but its not an obnoxious one just a suggestion
TIME OUT. My dads car is painted LIME GOLD, which isn't as green as that car. It actually has some metallic in it. Well, actually, the top coat of paint is Ivy gold, but the orginal is still under that, and is Lime gold. It looks much better then that lime green.
