Default 69' Mach 1 390'

How many 1969 Mach 1's had 390 engines. Looking but no answers. Can anybody advise me of a person with corporate knowledge that may be able to answer this question.

I have tried repeatedly and failed miserably. If you have sources, then please try to find this answer for me.

Thank you in advance...

grabber.

I don't think that any Mach 1's came with a 390 engine. You might ask the guys in the classic mustang section.

Don't know about the Mach 1's but I think that the 390's were in several thousand cars.
I know that a freind of mine had a 390 Mach 1 several years ago. Car had every option that Ford could put on it too so it happened at least once.......

welcome to the classic section, i have a 69 Mach but i believe in 69 most were built with 351 Windsor engines. Some had the cobra 428. I dont know the exact nubmers of production though. The best way to know if its a Mach 1, is the data plate should have a 63C for Mach 1, and the VIN should have an S in it. Btu to tell you te truth, i dont think any Machs were built with 390s.

EDIT* KEYWORD being BUILT WITH, plenty of owners change the engine after buying their classics.

actually not true. there were several mach 1's built with 390's. The 390 was carried over from the GT mustangs in 68.... remember, the mach 1 was introduced to replace the GT... anyhow, when Ford first introduced the Mach 1 to the public, they never though it was going to be a huge success (thought the same with the boss 302) Many early early mach 1's were ordered with the 390 because the 428 cj was offered but was extremely expensive, and only came with a 12 month warrenty, whereas the 390 came with a 24 month. I dont exactly know the production numbers down tho whats left out there, however this is not to say its a rare car, just uncommon, if you really want production numbers i suggest getting a Marti Auto Works report, it'll tell you everything you will need to know about your car including what options it came with, the motor, tranny, and even when the car was produced. Can get the cheapest one for 24 bucks i think, but you really sould get the deluxe report

www.californiaspecial.com

click on vin reports, and read on

Figure that if some 10,000 were built in '69 maybe 10% of those exist nowadays, that would be about 1,000.
My own feeling is there are not that many......
