Default 1969 Mach 1

My dad has a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 that he is getting restored. The car has been sitting out in our garage since about 1983. He got it for about 500 bucks i believe from some guy that had it in his barn... ne ways its got a 428cj engine that has been sittin in our basement along with all of the origional interior (so the mice wouldnt get at it i guess) It has the shaker hood scoop the mag wheels (he also has the origional wheels somewhere) its red with the black on the hood, rear window louvers etc no rust just faded paint a lot of dust from what i can see thats about all that looks wrong. My dad is having the engine worked on over the winter and the rest will be worked on over the summer. Since he is not much of a car guy (just knows a good deal when he sees one i guess), as long as i pitch in 1000 bucks he will give it 2 me for my 21st B-day(im 19 now) Anyone want to tell me a little about this car and how much you think it might be worth? thanks

im not positive...but i can safely say it is worth "quite a bit" restored.

if you dont put in 1000 bucks your a fool....so dont be a fool!

your extremely lucky....i cant even get my dad to go look at a car with me let alone buy a 1969 mach 1 and essentially give it to me for 1000 bucks...which really isnt even going to him if the money is being put into the car....

Yeah i deff am, i mean i have seen these cars at shows, there is a guy close by with one that looks just like ours but his has a 351 engine, ours has a 428 (i believe this is more rare) i dont know much about old stangs, more about the new ones ( i have an '02 GT) always wanted a 67 or 68 GT dark green like the origional bullitt, but i think this one will be cooler than ne thing on the street when we get her up and running. I wont sell it, thats not what i am in it for i will keep it and prob hand it down someday but hey it would be cool to say i have a 40k mustang in the garage. The 1k my dad wants me to put in is just his way of making me "do my part" I had to put in 5k for my 02GT which the rest was picked up as my HS grad and 18th B-day gift.

If you'd post the first 5 letters & numbers of the vin, along with the door data plate numbers we'd be able to tell you what you've got. For example, if the vin starts out 9R02R, it would be a 69 sportroof built in San Jose with the 428cj shaker hood. Nice examples of these are fetching approx. 40-55k right now.
