Default Seal for Cork Gaskets?

I know much of the tech stuff around gaskets have changed allot over the past ten years. I use to use a sealant along with the cork gasket when installing valve covers. Does anoyone still do this? I have been told by an old gear head to just use a coating of grease on both sides and install it.

Whats your thoughts?

Don't use RTV or sealant on your valve covers... All you need to do is rub some motor oil on the cork gasket and you'll be good to go. Been using that method for years and haven't had any issues.
