Default Gas Cap Question?

I am a new to mustang owner and have a simple question so I don't end up making a mistake. I just bought a 67' Fastback and the gas cap is not a pretty sight. I have already purchased a new gas cap but I'm unsure on how to install it. If someone could give me some advice, that would be great. Thanks!

Default Gas Cap Question?

a ring attaches to the cap itself and the ring screws into the pipe from to the tank, thats how the original 67 one works, i dont know if the one you got is the same</P>

Default Gas Cap Question?

On my car, the gas cap is connected to a security cable, then to the car bythe security cable. The cable is connected to the car by a little post. Then, I think the post is held in place by 5 bolts around the gas tank opening. Do I need to remove those 5 bolts to be able to attach the new gas cap?
